The Iron Men Golf Club held a Ryder Cup format competition on July 24, 2021 at the Mason Golf Center. Two teams were created to compete for the virtual Ryder Cup Trophy, Team Bivens and Team Brower.

Team Captains Clarence Bivens (CB) and Jerry Brower went behind closed doors to participate in a player selection draft. The two Captains started with a coin toss to determine who would have the honor of selecting the first player from the pool of 16 participating golfers. Jerry was determined to assemble his best possible team by quickly nabbing players with the lowest handicap within the selection pool, while CB seemingly targeted players known for having a good time regardless of the outcome. Six players from Team Bivens placed within the top ten ranking within the Ryder Cup. As the playing Captain, CB nestled in the closest to the pen shot for his team. Team Brower had only four players in the top ten ranking. Tony Loving recorded a sub-par round with a score of 69 from the Blue Tees. Richard McKinney rolled in the longest putt, and Darren Anderson smashed the longest drive. Team Bivens’ final score was 73 and Team Brower’s score was 64. The Bivens and Brower Ryder Cup was a mixture of competition, fun, and spirits enjoyed by all! Winners - Jerry Brower, Bryan Baquer, Darren Anderson, Dane Billingsley, Mark Menifee, Paul Fairley, Preston Duncan, Richard McKinney, and Tony Loving.
